Terms and Conditions

The following terms constitute a contract for the services provided by Strolling Paws Pet Care.

 

Strolling Paws Responsibilities

​

  1. Strolling Paws agrees to provide the services stated in this agreement in a caring, reliable and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and an express condition thereof, the client waives and relinquishes any and all claims against Strolling Paws.

  2. Strolling Paws promises to honour the agreement until its end, or until termination by the client.

  3. Strolling Paws will not let any dog off their lead, unless expressed consent has been given by the owner and a disclaimer signed. If the client has given permission for their dog to be walked off lead, Strolling Paws or any of their staff will not be held liable for damage, loss or injury if the dog runs away.

  4. Strolling Paws will endeavour at all times to ensure the pets in their care are treated in manner not to put them at risk, however Strolling Paws cannot accept liability for any loss or injury to them.

  5. Strolling Paws is fully insured, including liability cover, care, custody and control cover and non-negligent cover.

  6. It is expressly understood that Strolling Paws shall not be held responsible for damage to the clients' property or that of others caused by the clients pet during the period in which they are in our care. Strolling Paws accepts no responsibility or security of the premises or loss of any item.

  7. Strolling Paws reserve the right to alter any of the Terms and Conditions without warning.

  8. Strolling Paws reserve the right to alter prices charged without prior warning.

  9. Dog Walking is unavailable on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Pet Visits on these days may be shorter than 30 minutes and only available in the morning.

Client Responsibilities

  1. The client agrees to pay the rates that are in effect at the time their pet is in the care of Strolling Paws.

  2. A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at time of booking to secure the placement.

  3. Clients will be invoiced at the end of a scheduled service. Long-term clients will be invoiced weekly. All payments are due upon invoicing, within 5 working days. If the payment is overdue by 30 days, an additional 10% will added to the invoice. An additional charge of £5 per service will be applied to all Bank Holidays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's day.

  4. The client agrees to provide 48 hours notice of cancellation, prior to the scheduled start time of services. If less than 48 hours notice is provided, the client may be charged 50% of the fee. Any cancellations made within 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time of services will be charged in full.

  5. The client agrees to provide all information necessary for the satisfactory performance of services provided, including any dietary, nutritional and exercise requirements and any other instructions for the well being of the animal.

  6. The client is responsible to supplying the necessary equipment, medication, food and any other supplies needed for the care of the animal.

  7. Strolling Paws will not be held responsible for damage caused by a pet escaping due to faulty lead, collar or harness, or equipment that is not properly fitting and is supplied by the owner.

  8. The client authorises Strolling Paws to obtain emergency veterinary care that may be necessary during the time spent with their pet. Every effort will be made to contact the client or their emergency contacts prior to obtaining emergency care. The client accepts all responsibility for any charges related to this emergency care. The client also authorises Strolling Paws to use an alternative veterinarian in the event that their regular veterinarian is unavailable or cannot be reached.

  9. The client agrees to reimburse Strolling Paws for any additional fees for providing emergency care, as well as any expenses incurred for unexpected visits, transportation, housing, equipment, food, access or supplies.

  10. The client will be responsible for any medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to the pet sitter, other persons or animals by the pet. The client also agrees to indemnify Strolling Paws in the event a claim is made by any other person injured by the pet.

  11. The client is responsible to ensure adequate insurance for the property or the pet is in place for the duration of the agreement.

  12. The client is required to disclose any health issues their pet is suffering from or has suffered in the past. Strolling Paws cannot be held liable for any actions or omissions which result in problems arising or complications for anything not disclosed.

  13. The client agrees to notify Strolling Paws of any concerns/complaints within 48 hours of appointments.

Your Pet

​

  1. Strolling Paws require that pets should be up to date with vaccinations and flea and worm treatments. If the pet has a parasitic burden, they will be treated, in consultation with their regular veterinarian, and the client will be responsible for reimbursing any costs.

  2. Rabbits must be vaccinated against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD). Every precaution must be taken by the client against fly strike for rabbits and guinea pigs before care starts.

  3. Strolling Paws reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time if any staff member, in their own discretion, determines that the client's animal poses a danger to the health and safety of itself, other pets, other people or the employee.

  4. The client shall ensure that all dogs are wearing a collar with Owner's name and address (The Control of Dogs Order 1992), as well as the dog having a microchip, in line with the law (Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulations) . Strolling Paws reserves the right to add their own tag to the animal's collar whilst they are in our care. All cat owners are encouraged to have their cats microchipped in case of loss.

  5. Strolling Paws has a Duty of Care to the pet, and as such may restrict exercise due to extreme weather (e.g heat, thunderstorms, etc.) to ensure the welfare of the animal. This action is at the staff member's sole discretion and the client authorises Strolling Paws to make these decisions.

Keys and Client Information

​

  1. Keys will be kept securely and tagged, without the client's name or address on. Keys will be returned on completion of the service (unless the client requests the keys to be kept for future services).

  2. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure all information is accurate and up to date. The client agrees to accept any decision made by Strolling Paws in the event the client cannot be reached as a result of wrong information.

  3. Strolling Paws shall not use or pass to a Third Party (other than information needed by a carer to perform their duties) any client information. All information relating to the client, their property and pet(s) will be stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation.

  4. The client agrees to provide keys or arrange for keys to be available prior to the scheduled start date. If the supplied key does not work, or an incorrect key is provided, the client authorises Strolling Paws to obtain keys or access to emergency contacts, landlords or a locksmith.​
